Tuesday Blahgh

it's mardi gras. helen is having her big do in iowa, la. she does it every year. momo helen is damon's grandma. she's a total louisianan born and raised in a community not far from lake charles.
when he was younger i wanted him to be able to identify with all that he is. so i took it upon my self to find her and let him spend as much time with her as possible. his dad didn't care too much to introduce the two so i did a quick internet search and found her.
she knew about us but not much more than that. today, the relationship isn't all that great, but it's there and i'm satisfied with that. he knows his family, they know him.
so anyway back to mardi gras.
her's starts out with a chicken run/trail ride and then an all-you-can-eat gumbo fest wher later in the evening it's dancing until midnight to a zyedeco band or two.
we've been a few times and had lots of fun but i can only do so much zydeco so to me it's good enough that mardi gras only comes once a year. we are not attending this year.

Monday Blahgh

The alarm went off. I rolled over. It's 5:30. I wanted to sleep longer but he was there. He got out of bed and went to make his coffee. He came back and we slept a while longer. 6:15 am, he was gone.
I still wanted warmth so I pulled Damon into my bed. He's such a skinny little thing. But he was warm enough for the next 30 more minutes. He was happy. He loves cuddling with his mom.

Damn another Monday morning.
Well the one good thing for me is that its on day closer to the end of the next four years. whew!
